MEETING NOTICE
The November meeting of MIFDI will be held on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2024 (NOTE: THIS IS THE THIRD WEDNESDAY). We will be hosted by the Canton Fire Department at their HQ Station, 99 Revere St. MIFDI last met in Canton in June 2007.
Our program will be provided by Leo Reardon, EMS Coordinator for the Canton Fire Department. Leo will offer us a presentation on the Regional Field Transfusion Paramedic Program launched in March 2024. This groundbreaking new program has already helped to save patients with serious trauma by providing blood transfusion in a pre-hospital setting. If anyone is unsure about this new life-saving concept, those of you in a Command position at an incident with a patient trapped and bleeding during a prolonged extrication, you MUST know that this unit is an important option, ESPECIALLY if it is a firefighter trapped and bleeding out after a structural collapse.
SCHEDULE: 0930 Coffee, 1000 Presentation & Vehicle Tour, 1130 Business Meeting, 1200 Lunch (off site)
DIRECTIONS: From I-95 south merge onto I-93 in Canton. Directly after the merge, stay right and get off at EXIT 2A (Rt.38). Follow Rt. 38 to the first traffic light and turn right on Washington St toward Canton Center. Travel Washington St 3.1-miles and turn right onto Revere St. The firehouse will be on the right a short distance.
