Death of Jake the Fire Safety Dog

We regretfully mourn the passing of “JAKE”, the Fire Safety Dog of ESCAPE on May 21, 2020.   He was born on January 26, 2007 and started his interaction with children on made his television debut in June 2007.   Jake often attended MIFDI meetings and was loved by hundreds as he demonstrated fire safety lessons to countless children with STOP-DROP-AND-ROLL and to crawl low in smoke.  He was a great Service Dog and enjoyed his life as a teacher of fire safety.
