MEETING NOTICE
The next meeting of MIFDI will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. We will be again hosted by the Wayland Fire Department courtesy of Chief Neil McPherson and will meet in the first floor training room of the Wayland Public Safety Building, 30 Cochituate Rd. (Rt. 27). MIFDI last met in Wayland for our November 2021 meeting.
Our training program will be provided Chief Brian Young from Lincoln who is a member of the District 14 CISM Team along with retired Chief David Flannery from Carlisle. The District 14 Critical Incident Stress Management Team is part of a Statewide Peer Support Network broken down into teams by State Fire Districts. The mission of the team is to provide peer assistance to all emergency service personnel within the Commonwealth when a critical incident occurs. If your department is faced with a critical incident such as; serious injury or death of a co-worker in the line of duty, co-worker suicide, victim known to responders, serious injury or death of a child, multiple casualty incidents, prolonged rescue or recovery, operations with intense media coverage, or any incident with a high emotional impact on responders, you need to know who to call and have a number already in your cell phone to save time with getting a support team in place.
