Keeping health care workers safe when administering vaccinations

Traditional health care workers, and now some EMS personnel, are at risk of exposure to pathogens while administering multiple COVID-19 vaccinations.  The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and its partners have many resources on how to help keep EMS and health care workers safe.

This includes reminders for responders on how to reduce sharps injuries and what to do if you receive a sharps injury. Additionally, there is information on preparing to provide COVID-19 vaccinations and a vaccine storage and handling toolkit.

Please share this information with other EMS and health care personnel at risk for sharps injuries and exposure to COVID-19 during the vaccination process.
