THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR DEPUTY STATE FIRE MARSHAL PETER OSTROSKEY’S FATHER:
Uxbridge- Edward W. Ostroskey, 80, formerly of Church St., Linwood died peacefully at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge, where he had lived the past few years. He is survived by 8 children; Stephen E. Ostroskey of Ashland; Kathleen A. Peloquin of Milford; Charles W. Ostroskey of Pittsfield; Peter J. Ostroskey of Northbridge; Elaine M. Thomas of Clintondale, NY; Michael J. Ostroskey of Salem; Karen E. Lenox of Auburn; Jane E. Jones of Tulsa, OK; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Doris A. (Neal) Ostroskey who died on Nov. 21, 2008 and an infant daughter, Marie Elaine Ostroskey. Born in Milford, MA on Sept. 6, 1933 he was the son of Chester Ostroskey and Jeanette (Ackerman) Ostroskey Carderelli and was raised by his step-father Charles Carderelli. Ed was educated in St. Mary’s High School in Milford and graduated from Northeastern University where he received his degree in business. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict. He was a long-time member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Polish-American Social Civic Club. Ed also enjoyed dancing the polka, golf, boating, and camping.
His funeral will be held on Mon. Sept. 16 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Uxbridge. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Sun. Sept. 15 from 5-8 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
