The result of a catastrophic gas explosion in New York City.
The next meeting of MIFDI will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017. We will be hosted by the Shrewsbury Fire Department, 11 Church Rd. courtesy of MIFDI member Chief of Dept. James Vuona. We last met in Shrewsbury for our meeting in January 2016.
Our training program will be provided by a representative from National Grid with a presentation on Gas Emergencies. It’s been a few years since we reviewed gas emergency procedures and the winter months are usually when we see an increase in gas incidents.
0930 Coffee, 1000 Presentation, 1130 Business Meeting, 1200 Lunch (off site).
From Rt. I-495, take Exit 23B to Rt. 9 West. Continue Rt. 9 West aprox 7-miles to Rt. 140 North toward Shrewsbury (Staples on corner). Continue North on Rt. 140, which is Grafton St., for aprox 1-mile. When you cross the lights at Main St., take the very first left on Church Rd. at the white wooden church and you will see the station in front of you. There is plenty of parking to the right of the station. We will meet in the first floor training room.
